FORT WORTH – Medical City Fort Worth Transplant Institute Medical Director Sridhar Allam, MD, will be named a “Healthcare Hero” by the Fort Worth Business Press during a ceremony on February 20 at the Fort Worth Club.
The Fort Worth Business Press Healthcare Heroes awards recognizes excellence in the medical community. Health Care Heroes are selected and judged based on nominations from those in the profession and the business community.
Dr. Allam was nominated by Medical City Fort Worth Transplant Institute Director Erin Granvold for his dedication, commitment to excellence and inspirational qualities. Dr. Allam’s nomination letter details the case of a transplant institute colleague who was injured in a skiing accident in Colorado. Dr. Allam personally flew to Colorado to offer support and guidance, ensuring his colleague received outstanding clinical care out-of-state and back at home.

Dr. Allam has served as the medical director of the Medical City Fort Worth Transplant Institute since 2014. According to the latest report from the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients, the average time to receive a kidney transplant at Medical City Fort Worth is 5.3 months compared to 61.8 months nationally. Medical City Fort Worth was also recognized as one of the best kidney transplant programs in the nation for survival rates and patient outcomes.
