Plaza is the only certified comprehensive stroke center in Tarrant County and is also a cycle IV accredited chest pain center. Comprehensive Stroke Center

Medical City Fort Worth is designated as a Level I comprehensive stroke center by the Texas Department of State Health Services and a certified comprehensive stroke center through the DNV accreditation process.

Our emergency room is also accredited as a primary stroke center by the Joint Commission and has achieved gold standard plus recognition from the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA) for its stroke care.

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization which accredits and certifies more than 15,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States.

Chest Pain Center

Medical City Fort Worth is a cycle IV chest pain center (CPC) accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC). Hospitals accredited by the SCPC are required to undergo rigorous testing and process improvement to become an elite facility with an ER staff that thoroughly understands how to treat patients with chest pain and other heart attack symptoms.

Clinical Decisions Unit

Medical City Fort Worth’s clinical decision unit (CDU) is where patients who visit the ER receive careful observation for up to 23 hours. Patients admitted to the CDU can receive further monitoring, diagnostic procedures and nursing care.
